AMLI Fountain Place
AMLI Fountain Place in Dallas is a 45-story residential tower featuring a sleek glass curtain wall with reflective green glazing that gives the building a modern, elegant appearance. While the façade is largely planar and vertically uniform, the tower’s height and the sloped roofline introduce considerations for safe and effective maintenance access. Concealing maintenance equipment without affecting the architectural aesthetics also requires thoughtful planning, particularly when integrating BMU systems into the roof structure.
From a façade access perspective, the system designed was roof-mounted BMU which reached all areas of the curtain wall. With its telescopic and slewing mechanisms allowing the BMU to service the full perimeter of the facade while maintaining safe working distances. The most challenging aspect of the design, was the requirement for the BMU to be fully concealed within the building when fully parked. The team designed specific connection points to attach the building peak facade onto the BMU jibs, so when it is fully parked the tower maintains its peak glass sleek design.
